Summary:

This history of the introduction of reindeer from Siberia to Alaska (mainly northwest and southwest Alaska) in the early 1900s includes accounts of the progress in domesticating the herds and establishing a reindeer products industry, as well as the use of the animals in hauling sleds, and an account of the work of Sheldon Jackson who brought the first animals to the state.
