Summary:

During their tenure as teachers on King Island, Alaska, Rie and Juan Muñoz kept a journal of their experiences by writing letters to their parents, letters which could not be mailed until after they returned to Nome. After Juan's death in 2005, his son discovered a cache of old photographic negatives, the pictures from which are here presented with the texts of those letters.
