Run Lola run = Lola rennt / Sony Pictures Classics ; X Filme Creative Pool präsentiert ; in Zusammenarbeit mit [in association with] Filmstiftung NRW, Filmboard Berlin-Brandenburg, FFA, BMI, WDR, und Arte ; einen Film von Tom Tykwer ; produzent, Stefan Arndt ; buch & regie [written and directed], Tom Tykwer.
Manni is very possibly the most incompetent criminal ever. His very first day on the job and he inadvertently loses 200,000 marks just 20 minutes before he's due to deliver it to his bosses. Like any sane man, he calls his girlfriend--Lola will know what to do! Employing staples of pop sci-fi along with a variety of avant-garde techniques, running, red-haired riot grrrl Lola takes the narrative into her own hands, replaying events until she gets it right. She charges through a flock of nuns (take that, Catholicism!), robs a huge bank (take that, Capitalism!), and stops a roulette wheel with her glass-shattering scream (take that, Chance!), and all opponents are mown down by her openness, crazed optimism, and a firm belief in the endless possibilities of true love.
