This historical romance series launch is set in the 1920s frontier lands of Alaska. Cassidy Ivanoff works at a prestigious hotel, and her father, John, who is part native Alaskan, is the local wilderness expert. A fatal accident on a climb up the mountain years ago still haunts John. Allan Brennan arrives in the area to get the whole story regarding his father, Henry, who died during the descent. The third man on the climb was Henry's business partner, who has always publicly blamed John for Henry's death. When Allan starts working with John, he wonders about the truth of what he has been told. Cassidy begins falling in love with Allan but realizes that he must first find his way to God before she gives him her heart. Strong narration by Christina Moore makes for a pleasant listen. VERDICT Recommended. ["Authentic, lushly detailed setting and fleshed-out characterizations": LJ 2/1/17 review of the Bethany House hc.]-J. Sara Paulk, Houston Cty. P.L., Perry, GA © Copyright 2017.
