The 1990-91 winter was unusually harsh on the moose populations in Southcentral Alaska. Deep snows trapped the moose and buried their natural food resources. Citizen concern ran high, as did the controversy about trying to feed these animals or leaving Nature to take its course. More stories are available in The Homer News.
